If you’re not a tech-savvy person then it can be a little difficult at times to understand what all these terms mean. Chances are, though, if you’ve visited a website at least once in your life, you already know what a domain name is.
A domain name is pretty much the web address for a website. Maybe that sounds a little more familiar to you. Every website needs a domain name so they can be found. Usually domain names reflect the name of the business or brand. For example, the domain name for the Bebble website is ‘www.bebble.com.au’. Hypothetically, if your business was called Janet’s Jeans, then the domain name for your business’s website would be ‘www.janetsjeans.com.au’.
It’s impossible to have a website without a domain name, just like it’s impossible to have a house without an address. You’ll have to buy your domain name, but once you have it, it’s yours.
Buying a domain name is easy too. There are plenty of registries online that take yearly payments. It’s a quick set-up and a necessity for your website, so now that you’re an expert, don’t put it off any longer!
